Working or simply producing in the midst of a serious economic and health crisis were challenges imposed on everyone by the new coronavirus pandemic, which seemed impossible to overcome. However, Congraf showed once again that with determination and efficient management it is possible to overcome the most difficult obstacles.

The proof of this is that in the last month of September, after a very focused work, month by month, the packaging manufacturer recorded a 20% increase in packaging production compared to the same period in 2019, thus showing a clear recovery of the company and the economy at this unstable time in the economy.

“Even without a vaccine for the coronavirus, the country's economy is already starting to respond with more encouraging signs. We have always been optimistic, but such an intense return has been a pleasant surprise. The effort of our team makes us very satisfied and daily we continue to align processes to serve our customers with the usual quality and agility”, highlights Sidney Anversa Victor Junior, industrial director.

The company also points out that due to the increase in orders, it was necessary to expand work shifts, including for weekends, and hire new employees. Another important indication was felt with paper suppliers, who delayed deliveries, as they were surprised by the high demand. “The packaging sector is one of the most emblematic thermometers of the economy. It faithfully reflects the population's increase in consumption”, analyzes the director.

According to data from the National Confederation of Industry – CNI, the month of August was the first to register a rise in employment, around 1,9%. Industry revenue has also been growing, but is still 3,9% lower than between January and August 2019.

In view of all this, Congraf launches expectations for the end of the year period, usually busier due to the festivities and the heating up of commerce in general. “The second semester is stronger for the printing industry, which should represent an important increase in demand. Here at Congraf, we are prepared for this return”, concludes Sidney Anversa Victor Junior. This year, Congraf invested heavily in cutting and creasing and gluing equipment, which expanded its production and intensified its ability to serve a varied portfolio of customers, quickly, covering several markets.
